Stuart Broad had a fairytale ending to his international career on Monday at The Oval as he picked up the last two Australian wickets to help his side win another thrilling Test, helping England draw level the series 2-2.
The 37-year-old bows out with 604 Test wickets to his name – which is the 5th highest in Test cricket and the second highest among pacers, only after teammate James Anderson’s tally of 690 wickets. Broad featured in 167 Test matches, again the fifth most in Test cricket, and second among pacers.
Additionally, Broad also snapped up 178 ODI wickets and 65 T20I scalps, going out with a total of 847 international wickets. He scored over 3000 Test runs as well with one century and 13 fifties to his name in the format.
He had a surreal ending to his career in front of a jam-packed Oval crowd helping his side to finish one of the greatest, most memorable Ashes series of all-time. Broad finished the Ashes 2023 series with 22 wickets, just one short of the leading wicket-taker of the series, Mitchell Starc.
Wishes have been pouring in from all corners for Broad after he had a dream ending to his career with the dismissals of Todd Murphy and Alex Carey, which avoided England losing a home Ashes series since 2001.
A tributary post for Stuart Broad came from Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar

Sachin Tendulkar took to Twitter to hail Stuart Broad for his ‘phenomenal career’, ‘relentless spells and unwavering dedication’ of the veteran England seamer.
“A phenomenal career draws to a close. @StuartBroad8, your relentless spells and unwavering dedication will forever be etched in cricket’s annals. A fitting end to your career. Enjoy the next innings!” Sachin Tendulkar tweeted.

Stuart Broad ends his career having hit his last ball with the bat for a six and his ball with the ball for a wicket.
“It was absolutely wonderful,” Broad told Sky Sports. “The crowd were unbelievable. It was so loud and we just jumped on the back of that. To contribute to the team with two wickets is very special. When you make that decision you wonder what your last ball will be so to take a wicket to win an Ashes Test match is pretty cool.”
