Indian middle-order batter Suryakumar Yadav continued his Midas touch as he registered his third T20I century in the ongoing 3rd T20I against Sri Lanka at the Saurashtra Cricket Stadium in Rajkot. SKY, who is currently the World No.1 batter in the shortest format of the game, completely stole the show with his powerful batting performance against Sri Lanka as he became only the second Indian batter to score 3 or more centuries in the T20I format of the game.
Walking out to bat at number 4, Surya reached the milestone in just 45 balls on Saturday (January 7) in the 3rd T20I match against Sri Lanka. Suryakumar Yadav scored an unbeaten 112 off 51 deliveries and his brilliant century steered the Indian team to a strong total of 228/5 in 20 overs. This was SKY’s third century in the shortest format of the game and also the second-fastest century by an Indian player in the T20I format.
Playing a stunning knock, SKY displayed his trademark shorts as he smashed the Sri Lankan bowlers to all the corners of the ground. His knock was laced with seven fours and nine sixes. He remained unbeaten and ended the innings in style by hitting a six and a four off Chamika Karunaratne in the last over.
SKY’s celebration has gone viral

Meanwhile, Suryakumar’s celebration after reaching the triple-figure has gone insanely viral on social media as the dressing room erupted with joy after seeing SKY reach the special milestone. The Indian vice-captain for the series kissed the Indian flag on his helmet after his stunning performance.

After his brilliant effort with the bat, Suryakumar Yadav talked about his performance and stated that he is not complacent about his sensational run in 2022 and starting the new year with a fresh start. He said: “I’m really happy with the way the innings went. Captain winning the toss and batting first showed faith in the batters, few shots are pre-determined, but these are the shots I’ve been playing over the last year and I’m not doing anything different. The 2022 form is gone, it’s a fresh start in 2023 and I hope to continue doing well. It’s a good pitch, nice bounce and a lush outfield,”
