Irfan Pathan Trolls “Padosi” Pakistanis Once Again After India’s Asia Cup Win

Irfan Pathan Trolls “Padosi” Pakistanis Once Again After India’s Asia Cup Win – It was as emphatic a victory for India in the Asia Cup 2023 final against Sri Lanka as anyone would have hoped for.

In fact, nobody would have anticipated such a complete annihilation of the Sri Lankan batting-order, and that the match – an ODI – would finish in only in only 21.3 overs!

Mohammed Siraj’s 6-wicket haul in a 7-over new-ball spell blew Sri Lanka away. Indeed, it was his second over in which he took 4 wickets – only the third time a bowler has taken 4 wickets in an over in ODI history, in which ball-by-ball data is available – that all but sealed the match for India after Dasun Shanaka, the Sri Lankan skipper, had won the toss and elected to bat first.

Jasprit Bumrah opened the wickets column in the first over before Siraj wreaked havoc with his 6 wickets. Hardik Pandya finished off the Lankan batting with three quick wickets, India bowled Sri Lanka out for only 50 runs in 21.2 overs.

With such a small target to chase, captain Rohit Sharma sent Ishan Kishan to open alongside Shubman Gill. The pair chased the 51-run target down in only 6.1 overs to win India’s 8th Asia Cup trophy – 7th in ODI Asia Cup, to go with their T20 Asia Cup title in 2016.

This led to a spate of trolling of Sri Lanka, and also of the Pakistan team which lost to Sri Lanka a few days ago.

Irfan Pathan leads the trolling of Pakistanis after India’s Asia Cup win

Among many Indians, former all-rounder Irfan Pathan was also one who took a hilarious dig and the now famous trolling of the “padosi” Pakistani fans.

Irfan Pathan tweeted: “Padosi abhi bhi Awaz Karne ki Koshish Kar rahe hai, Lekin Colombo Tak unki Awaaz pahoch nahi rahi hai. #Sunday”

This tweet from Irfan Pathan made the Indian chuckle and it gained over 30k likes in quick time.

Man of the Match Siraj said: “Have been bowling well since a long time. Was missing the edges earlier. But found them today. The wicket was seaming earlier, but there was swing today. Thought that I will bowl fuller because of the swing. When there’s good bonding between fast bowlers, it’s helpful for the team. I was thinking it would be great if I could stop the boundary. My best spell. This cash prize goes to the groundsmen. This tournament wouldn’t have been possible without them.”
