Cricketing Extravaganza Unveiled

The ICC World Cup’s promotional video burst onto screens with pulsating music, and it showcased the Indian Cricket Team’s luminaries in their full glory. This visual spectacle not only raised the excitement levels but also set the tone for the upcoming cricketing extravaganza. However, amidst all the glitz and glamour, fans couldn’t help but wonder: Where was Virat Kohli?

The Missing Piece: Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli, often hailed as the ‘Run Machine’ and the captain of the Indian Cricket Team, was conspicuously absent from the ICC World Cup promo. His absence was akin to a jigsaw puzzle with a crucial piece missing, leaving fans yearning for his presence. While the promo was undoubtedly impressive, it felt incomplete without the charismatic Kohli.

The High Voltage Squad

The promo featured several star players, including Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, KL Rahul, Ravi Ashwin, Mohammed Siraj, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, and many more, showcasing their favorite celebration postures. Some extended their arms like majestic wings, while others proudly pointed to the revered Indian badge on their jerseys. Meanwhile, a few indulged in iconic celebration styles, such as Siraj’s umpire-pointing gesture and KL Rahul’s famous ‘Shutting out haters’ move, which he often performs after reaching a century.

Why Kohli was missing?

The burning question on every fan’s mind was, “Why was Virat Kohli absent from this grand promo?” The answer, it turns out, is relatively straightforward. The former Indian team skipper did not travel with the rest of the squad to Trivandrum from Guwahati. It was later revealed that Kohli had to return to Mumbai for personal reasons, which temporarily kept him away from the team.

The Anticipated Return

While the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) did not issue an official statement regarding Kohli’s availability for the India vs. Netherlands World Cup warm-up match, it is widely expected that he will rejoin the squad soon. The cricketing fraternity eagerly awaits the return of their beloved captain, who is set to lead the Men in Blue on their quest for World Cup glory.
