A Day After Sarfaraz Got Test Call-Up, Brother Musheer Khan Slams Century vs NZ In Under-19 World Cup

This week has been pretty special for Naushad Ahmed Khan’s family. Just a day after 26-year-old Sarfaraz Khan got his maiden India Test squad call-up, 18-year-old Musheer Khan hammered a sizzling century against New Zealand in the ongoing Under-19 World Cup in South Africa.

Batting at number 3, Musheer Khan walloped 13 fours and 3 sixes in his thunderous knock of 131 runs in 126 balls against the New Zealand under-19 side in Bloemfontein in their Super Sixes matches.

This epic century from Musheer came less than 24 hours after his elder brother Sarfaraz received his maiden India call-up to the Test squad for the second Test against England, in Vizag, as the replacement of KL Rahul. With Virat Kohli also unavailable and Ravindra Jadeja injured for the second Test and India likely feeling the need to extend their batting line-up, there is a chance that both Sarfaraz Khan and Rajat Patidar could make their Test debuts in Vizag.

Talking about Musheer Khan’s century, his innings helped India post a big total of 295 runs. At the time of writing, New Zealand are struggling in their chase at a score of 59/6.

Musheer Khan became only the second Indian batsman, after Shikhar Dhawan, to hit two centuries in a single Under-19 World Cup tournament.

Fans on Twitter erupted with joy and celebration for the success of Musheer Khan and Sarfaraz Khan:
