Former Australia captain Aaron Finch gave a hilarious reply when asked how should a batsman tackle the threat of Jasprit Bumrah.
Jasprit Bumrah produced one of the best-ever World Cup spells against Pakistan at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
On a good batting surface, the spearhead India fast bowler returned with match-winning figures of 7-1-19-2. After a tight opening spell, which helped India contain runs even as Mohammed Siraj leaked boundaries, Jasprit Bumrah returned to bowl two magical deliveries to bowl Mohammad Rizwan and Shadab Khan. Those two wickets were part of Pakistan’s collapse from 155/2 to 191 all-out.
Already hailed by many as India’s greatest white-ball fast bowler, Jasprit Bumrah further heightened his status with a great performance – not least against India’s arch-rivals, Pakistan, in a World Cup encounter.
How to counter Jasprit Bumrah?: Aaron Finch gives a funny reply

Speaking on a show for ESPNcricifo, Aaron Finch was asked how a batsman should counter Bumrah.
Finch cheekily replied “Retire, like I did,” leaving everyone in splits in the room.
Finch added: “When Bumrah first started, he would predominantly inswing to the right-hander, with the ability to hold the line off a straight one. And then, one series, he (Bumrah) started bowling outswinger non-stop, and then he occasionally inswing.”
“Then you always go, ‘Wow, what does my footwork have to be here’ because it’s so hard to see because his wrist is so good, and it’s only a subtle change with just in or just away. So, with a guy whose arms are everywhere, it can be really difficult to try and track that. He is somebody who is amazing. He gets the best players in the world out consistently.”.
Taking the Man of the Match award, Bumrah described his balls to Rizwan and Shadab: “We were bowling in the middle overs and I saw Jaddu’s ball was turning, not too much but a little bit. I count my slower ball as a spinner’s slower ball, one of those days where it came off. (On the ball that got Shadab) Little phase where there was reverse swing, one of the occasions when the white ball was reverse swinging.”
India’s next match is against Bangladesh on October 19 in Pune.
