SunRisers Hyderabad’s star player Heinrich Klaassen put up a stellar show with the bat in game number 65 of the ongoing 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad on Thursday (May 18).
Heinrich Klaassen Registered His Maiden IPL Century
Klaasen walked out to bat during the fifth over when SRH was struggling at 28/2. Amid the pressure situation, Klaasen took the RCB bowlers to the cleaners and completed his half-century in just 24 balls. He added a 76-run stand with Aiden Markram. While Markram fell after scoring 18 off 20 balls, Klaasen held the one end firmly and took the game by storm.
The wicketkeeper-batter continued his carnage and soon reached the century mark in the penultimate over off 48 balls with a maximum against Harshal Patel.

He was eventually dismissed by Harshal for 104 runs off 51 balls. His maiden century was laced with 8 fours and 6 sixes. Thanks to his stunning knock, SRH posted a total of 186/5 on the board.
This isn’t the first time he rescued his side in the pressure situation. He has been one of the biggest positives for his side in the disastrous season they had.
AB de Villiers Hailed Klaasen
Meanwhile, Heinrich has been receiving praise from all corners for his stunning knock. From cricketers and experts to fans, everyone came up with amazing messages and reactions to his maiden century.
Among many, RCB legend AB de Villiers also took to his social media and hailed the performance of Klaasen by calling him a super special player. In another Tweet, Klaasen also hailed his century as top 5 best centuries of the IPL. He wrote:
“Heinrich Klaassen is a super special player! One of the best players of spin I’ve ever seen.”
