Former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) player AB de Villiers shared an inspiring message for the Women’s team of the franchise before the final of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024. He encouraged them to win the trophy, stating that it would motivate the men’s team in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. RCB Women have secured a spot in the final of the WPL 2024.

Led by Smriti Mandhana, Royal Challengers Bagalore’s women will face Delhi Capitals in the final clash on Sunday (17th March) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. After a challenging season last year, RCB Women have displayed remarkable cricket this season, captivating fans at both the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore and the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

AB de Villiers Special Message For RCB Women Ahead Of WPL 2024 Final

RCB won 4 out of 8 league matches, securing the third spot. They showed resilience in the eliminator against Mumbai Indians, turning the game around from a difficult position. Despite scoring only 135 runs, their spirited bowling performance led to a remarkable victory.

Meanwhile, AB de Villiers is excited about the upcoming WPL 2024 final, expecting a thrilling match between two strong teams. AB de Villiers praised both teams for their impressive style of cricket, offering his congratulations ahead of the final. Speaking in a video posted on his Twitter account, he said:

“Women’s Premier League finals today promises to be an outstanding clash between two powerhouse teams. The two stand-out teams of this tournament. The Delhi Capitals Women’s team and Royal Challengers Bangalore Women’s team will be facing off in an action-packed final today.”

He added: “I absolutely cannot wait to watch the action unfold. Congratulations to both teams for making the finals, well deserved, and stand- performances throughout the tournament individually and as a team.”

Further, AB de Villiers backed the RCB Women to win the IPL 2024. He said: “A special shoutout to team RCB. All the very best to you all! Bring the trophy home and also give the men’s (team) some motivation for later on this month when the IPL starts. All the very best guys, I’ll be watching every ball.”
