AB de Villiers Warns Virat Kohli After South Africa Was Defeated By India In Test Series

AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli are like ‘Jai’ and ‘Veeru’ of cricket. Their friendship is known to everyone. Ever since AB de Villiers was roped in the Royal Challengers Bangalore squad in 2011, the two have been best friends.

Both the cricketers are like pillars of Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League. Both of them never shy away from showering praises on each other. And yet again, AB de Villiers has poured in wishes for the Indian skipper for his work ethics for the Men in Blue.

Recently, talking to Times now, AB de Villiers lauded Virat as someone who believes in leading the team from the front. He quoted that Kohli is one of the players who not only talk but also walks the talk. He said:

“Virat is very fortunate to have a lot of talent there – players who have a lot of experience, who have played a lot of IPL games under the most intense pressure before. He is blessed with that but also he is a lead from the front kind of a leader.”

He added:

And that’s always good from a captain when a guy goes out there and scores the big hundreds. He just doesn’t only talk but walks the talk as well. That’s the kind of a leader Virat is. He leads from the front with his body language.”

Furthermore, he congratulated the skipper for his brilliant performances and runs he scored in the recent Test series. However, he called it was unfortunate that South Africa was at the receiving end of it. But he made sure to challenge the cricketer that same won’t be repeated when India will visit South Africa. He said:

“We are very good friends. We always stay in touch and we get along really well. I have always been a big fan of the way he plays the game. After the SA series, I didn’t have a choice but to congratulate him as he scored so many runs and had a fantastic series, unfortunately against us. That’s the last I spoke to him. Then I warned him as well that when he is going to next come here, it’s not going to happen again (laughs),”
