Out of favour Indian batsman Suresh Raina is the latest addition to the list of marquee players who will play in the next season of Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL). The likes of Yusuf Pathan, Piyush Chawla and Yuzvendra Chahal have also signed for the tournament’s second edition.
The star Uttar Pradesh batsman has been roped in by Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) club Grandslam. Raina, who has been consistently ignored by the national selectors in the last 12 months, has been working hard on his fitness and game, and he would eager to get in the middle and make a strong case for himself with some good, consistent performances.
Suresh Raina has played a lot of cricket for India and not long ago, he was one of the most reliable batsmen for India in limited-overs cricket. But, as he lost form, many replacements came up and since then, he has been struggling to make a comeback. He has so far played 259 Twenty20s, scoring 6872 runs at a strike rate of 139. He is also the leading run-scorer in the history of Indian Premier League (IPL).
