Ahmed Shehzad was once hailed as the next big thing in Pakistan cricket. He started his career on a very positive note and soon started drawing comparison with India’s Virat Kohli because many fans believe they both look very similar to each other. But as his career progressed, Ahmed Shehzad lost his form and kept moving in and out of the squad. He also had some disciplinary issues that forced the team management to keep him out and try other youngsters who were pushing selectors with good performances at the domestic level.
Ahmed Shehzad has been trying hard to make comeback but the likes of Asad Shafiq, Babar Azam and others have done well for Pakistan at the international level and selectors don’t want to make too many changes in the young squad. Ahmed Shehzad was recently seen plying his trade in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). He then turned up for the Habib Bank in the domestic trophy. With an unbeaten century and a 71 in the tournament, Ahmed Shehzad gave glimpses of return to form.
Saj Sadiq, a very well known cricket journalist from Pakistan, quoted Ahmed Shehzad saying that Virat Kohli, Joe Root and Kane Williamson got a lot of support from their team and fans and he was unlucky in this regard. See Saj Sadiq’s tweet here:
Ahmed Shehzad “If you look at Virat Kohli, Kane Williamson & Joe Root, you will see that unlike me, they all got a lot of support” #Cricket

Pakistani fans didn’t like this statement and trolled Shehzad over it.
