Ajinkya Rahane’s Innings That Made His Comeback To WTC Final Happen: On Tuesday, the Indian cricket board (BCCI) announced a 15-man squad for the much-anticipated World Test Championship 2021-23 final. Rohit Sharma will lead a 15-man squad against mighty Australia in the much-awaited game, which is scheduled to be played from June 7 to 11 at the Oval in London.

Rahane Included In Squad For WTC Final 2023

Veteran batter Ajinkya Rahane has been recalled to the Indian squad after a series of fine performances in domestic cricket and the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023.

Ajinkya Rahane, who is hailed as one of the finest batters in the Test format, was dropped Test squad after a series of poor performances. He last played for Team India in the Cape Town Test against South Africa last year, where he made 9 and 1. However, after a long wait of more than a year, he has finally earned his place in India’s 15-man squad for the upcoming World Test Championship final against Australia in June.

However, the comeback wasn’t an easy one, he had worked for it. After recovering from his injuries, Rahane went on to play for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy, and ended as the leading scorer in the Ranji Trophy, with 634 runs from seven matches, including a double-century against Hyderabad, and 191 against Assam.

Ajinkya Rahane Made A Stellar Comeback To Form In IPL 2023

Rahane has surprised everyone with his stunning form in the ongoing 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League, where he is plying his trade for the Chennai Super Kings.

Recently, in a game against Kolkata Knight Riders, Ajinkya Rahane stole the show with the bat as he smoked an unbeaten 71 off just 29 balls as CSK set a mammoth 236-run target for KKR after being asked to bat first at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Sunday, April 23.

Rahane smashed six fours and five sixes during his innings. He added 85 runs for the third wicket with Shivam Dube (50 off 21)  to put CSK ahead of the eight ball.
