India’s Test vice-captain, Ajinkya Rahane, will become the 49th Indian cricketer to be awarded with Arjuna Award, the most prestigious award for a sportsman in India. This awarded will be given to Ajinkya Rahane for his dedicated efforts and excellence in the last 4 years.
Rahane has been an absolute rock in the middle-order for India in Test cricket. Irrespective of the conditions and bowling attacks, Rahane has scored runs everywhere he has traveled with Team India to play cricket.
Ajinkya Rahane posted a video on his twitter handle and thanked his fans, supporters and the sports ministry for giving him this recognition, as he said, ” I would like to thank BCCI, all my fans, the sports ministry for this award. It means a lot to me. I’m sure this award will motivate and inspire me to do well.”

Virats Kohli’s first coach, Rajkumar Sharma will also receive the Dronacharya award for his services to cricket. He played nine first-class games and three List A matches between 1986 and 1989.
