Amit Mishra was pick of India’s bowlers in the recently concluded One Day International (ODI) series against New Zealand. Amit Mishra was awarded man of the series for being the highest wicket taker in the series.
Mishra’s best performance came in the fifth and final match of the series in Vizag. Mishra bowled 6 overs out of which 2 were maidens and he took 5 wickets. It was a leg-spin masterclass by Amit Mishra and the Kiwi batsmen had no answer to his spin-magic.
“His (Anil Kumble) mental support is the biggest thing for me. I sat out for the entire Test series but he supported me mentally and told me “don’t worry, your time will come”,” Mishra, said at the post-match media conference.
Amit Mishra Mishra also said how Kumble’s invaluable tips helped him.
“Whenever I went to bowl in the nets, he always gave me tips on how to improve your bowling, like the seam position… He told me “you can improve batting also”. He’s always there to rectify your small mistakes,” Mishra explained on Kumble’s role.
