Yuvraj Singh scores unbeaten 179 in Punjab’s Ranji Trophy match against Baroda

India’s dashing all-rounder Yuvraj Singh is giving his all at the domestic level to push selectors for a comeback. Yuvraj Singh batted brilliantly and scored an unbeaten 179 in Punjab’s Group A Ranji Trophy match against Baroda in New Delhi on Saturday.

Yuvraj Singh formed a crucial partnership with opener Manan Vohra. The Yuvraj-Vohra duo shared an unbroken partnership of 314 runs for the third wicket to help Punjab close in on Baroda’s huge total of 529.

Yuvraj Singh was ignored by the national selectors for the recently concluded ODI series against New Zealand and with this knock he has sent a strong message to the selectors that he is in good form and still very hungry for runs. Yuvraj Singh batted at nearly four-an-over to steer Punjab towards three points, after Deepak Hooda’s unbeaten 293 had propelled Baroda to 529.

Yuvraj Singh looked very fluent during his innings and smashed 23 boundaries. The most noteworthy part of the Yuvraj’s innings was his shot selection.
