U19 World Cup: It was another heartbreak for the Indian colts as they were drubbed by Australia U19 in the grand finale after an upbeat display with the ball in their hands. They tried their very best but for the batters, there came no saviour and eventually they were toppled by the might of the Aussie bowlers.
However, just because they went down fighting, doesn’t mean that there was any lack of efforts and diligence from their end. They were battling tooth and nail that saw them remain undefeated until the final. Here are the top performers for India U19 in the World Cup.
#1 Uday Saharan – 397 runs
The Indian captain showcased exemplary class to lead the run-scoring charts with 397 runs. He scored them at a breezy rate of 77.69 while hammering one century and three fifties. He averaed a staggering 56.71. With a highest score of 100, Saharan led the Indian batting pack and was certainly the finest in the echelons to usher the Boys in Blue through insurmountable odds.

#2 Musheer Khan – 360 runs
Considering the fact that he stayed unbeaten once, Musheer Khan registered a higher average than Uday Saharan, reading 60. He had two centuries in the tournament and a half-century too. He scored the runs at a staggering strike rate of 98.09, leading the gung-ho in the Indian batting unit. Khan’s best of 131 was absolutely sensational.
#3 Saumy Pandey – 18 wickets
One of the sensations with the cherry in his hands, Saumy Pandey bagged 18 crucial wickets while conceding only 2.68 runs an over. Seeing such numbers in ODIs is something that you would rarely expect. His best bowling figures of 4/19 was a display of absolute belief in himself and playing exactly to his strengths.
#4 Naman Tiwari – 12 wickets
Tiwari occasionally cast a shadow of being unstoppable and there was hardly anything that the batters would hope to score when Naman came into bowling. He bowled an extremely tight line, conceding only 5.17 runs an over. He also registered three maidens in the tournament while chronicling a BBI of 4/20.
