To ‘Sir’ Ravindra Jadeja,
I recently attended the ‘DC vs CSK’ match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Watching Dhoni play live was my biggest dream but trust me when Dhoni was there in the middle along with you, I was numb. Initially, I was happy that my two favorite players were right in front of my eyes, but then I just felt bad for you.
The chants of ‘single..’ ‘single..’ filled the environment. My heart just broke into pieces. I wanted to do something and stop those voices but it was impossible.
But I realized that it wasn’t like the fans didn’t want you to perform, (they were going crazy every time you were near the boundary later), they just wanted Dhoni to have a piece of that last over. It is just so difficult to imagine how tough it must be for you to keep calm and do what only you can do out there in the middle. You fought against those voices and played such a crucial knock for the team.
I can understand how frustrated you must be when you took to social media last night and slammed ‘some fans’.

The anger, the pain, and the trauma were clearly visible in your eyes when you received the ‘Upstox’ award last night. I am happy that you expressed your frustration. But I want you to know, that you are loved, that you are respected, and that we CSKians know that you are the ‘most valuable asset of the team’.
And why just CSK, you are the MVP of the Indian cricket team as well.
You are a delight for a captain, who can contribute runs lower down the order. As a left-arm spinner, you can deliver four handy bowlers, on most days. Your fielding skills make you an even greater asset for any side you play for. Your contribution to the game is unparalleled.
I want you to know that we CSKians never stopped believing in you, and one of the reasons behind this belief is MS Dhoni, who has always been your biggest supporter. Even when things weren’t right, even when the world was pointing fingers at you, that man never stopped believing in you. He trusted your talent and we trusted his faith in you.
Once MS Dhoni added ‘Sir’ ahead of your name, and ever since then we fans have carried this as a mark of respect for you.
I know it’s not easy being – Ravindra Jadeja, who has been fighting battles on-field and also inside his head, but we trust your sword (talent), respect your contribution, and believe in your power, that you can defeat the negativity around you and can see the love and respect that we fans have for you.
I want you to know that if Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the heart and soul of Chennai Super Kings, you are like the blood running in the veins of the team. We love you!
