On Friday, team India was thrashed by England by 8 wickets in the 1st T20I at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad to take the lead of 1-0 in the ongoing 5-match T20I series. England cricket team dominated the game from start to the end and gave a brilliant performance in all the departments of the game. England was able to chase down the target of 125 runs in the 16th over itself.

The perfect start! ?

With only 124 runs to defend, team India needed early wickets to make a comeback into the game, however, Jason Roy and Jos Buttler joined hands to shatter the chances. The duo gave a stunning performance and shared 72-runs for the first wicket to all but seal the game for the tourists. It was Yuzvendra Chahal who gave India a much-needed breakthrough when he dismissed Buttler for 28 runs.

Later, Washington Sundar dismissed Jason Roy for 49 runs before Dawid Malan and Jonny Bairstow took the game by storm and chased down the total to win the game in the 16th over.

Earlier in the game, Indian batsmen came up with a poor display with the bat after being asked to bat first. Virat Kohli and co. could only manage to score 124 runs for 7 in the allotted 20 overs.

While the Indian skipper was dismissed on zero, the openers – Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul couldn’t even touch the double-digit mark as team India found themselves 3 down for just 20 in 5 overs. Following Virat’s dismissal, the Indian batting line-up collapsed badly. Though Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer tried to bring back the momentum but both of them failed to rescue team India.

Meanwhile, as soon as the match came to an end, social media was flooded with reactions from the netizens on this.

Here, check out how Twitterati reacted after team India lost the 1st T20I:

Extremely bore game. Rubbish slogging. Average bowling. PSL, BBL, IPL – all better quality than this T20I stuff.
