Former England skipper Michael Vaughan slammed India wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant for his shot selection and the way he has batted in the whole series, especially the way he was dismissed on the opening day of the 4th Test match against England at The Oval.

Rishabh Pant is receiving criticism from all corners because of his poor form and his poor form in England continued in the first innings of the 4th Test match as well. Pant once again failed to leave a mark with his performance in the ongoing series and threw his wicket away courtesy of his shot selection.

He had walked out to bat with a lot of responsibility as all the top guns of the Indian side were already dismissed. But Pant once again managed to disappoint everyone with his performance. He was dismissed by Chris Woakes after scoring only 9 runs.

The dynamic youngster is having a tough time with the bat in the ongoing 5-match Test series against England. So far, in the six innings, he has played, the swashbuckling left-hander has only managed to score only 96 runs.

Meanwhile, after his performance fans on social media expressed their disappointment with his poor performance. And as expected, there were many who came out in his defense and said “That’s just the way he plays,”. However,  Vaughan looked annoyed as he made it clear that this time he isn’t going to buy this theory.

Michael Vaughan took to his Twitter and slammed Pant for his form. He also praised the bowling performance of the England cricket team. He wrote:

That’s just the way I play !!!!!!!!!!! Sorry but that was rubbish …. but England have bowled very very well today …. #ENGvIND”
