Chennai Super Kings star Ravindra Jadeja was on fire today with the ball in Chennai against Sunrisers Hyderabad. The left-arm finger spinner returned with brilliant figures of 3/22 in his 4-over spell that went a long way in restricting SRH to an under-par total of 134.
Ravindra Jadeja was involved in a heated tussle with SRH’s Heinrich Klaasen
Ravindra Jadeja took the wickets of Abhishek Sharma, Rahul Tripathi, and Mayank Agarwal. But there was small heated show-off between him and SRH batsman Heinrich Klaasen as well.
When he bowled the first ball of his last over, the 14th of SRH’s innings, he had Agarwal mistiming and chipped it back toward his right. Jadeja made a swift move to his right and even got both his hands on the ball, but he collided with Heinrich Klaasen, who was turning around at the non-striker’s end, trying to get back in his crease. Jadeja, after the collision, shelled the catch.
There was no mistake of Heinrich Klaasen here: he stood his ground and didn’t make any moves to distract Ravindra Jadeja, nor did he change his line to obstruct the bowler from taking the catch. Jadeja wasn’t happy with that and gave a gesture to Klassen, making it clear that he was furious with the non-striker.
If it wasn’t already clear, Ravindra Jadeja screamed out his emotions at Klassen moments after he had dismissed Agarwal in the same over, stumped by the sharp hands of MS Dhoni. After Dhoni had completed the stumping of Agarwal, Jadeja turned toward Klassen and shouted. The South African didn’t reply anything but was certainly miffed by Jadeja’s reaction and just stared at the bowler.
