After impressing in the IPL 2023 and in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2023, Arjun Tendulkar has started in the first XI for Goa in the Ranji Trophy 2024 season.
The Ranji Trophy season kick-started on January 5. Goa met Tripura in Agartala for their Elite Group C encounter. While Tripura is captained by the veteran Indian player Wriddhiman Saha, Goa is led by Darshan Misal and includes a few inexperienced players, one of whom is Arjun Tendulkar.
Son of the great Sachin Tendulkar, Arjun made his IPL debut for the Mumbai Indians in IPL 2023 season and impressed during the chances he got to play. He had a fruitful Vijay Hazare Trophy last month in which he took 11 wickets in the tournament, which included a terrific four-wicket haul against Nagaland.

A left-arm pace with the ability to swing the ball and also extract some bounce due to his height, Arjun Tendulkar picked up two wickets in Tripura’s first innings.
His wickets comprised middle-order batsmen Ganesh Satish, who scored 73 runs and was building up for a big ton but Arjun dismissed him, and Rajat Dey, Arjun got both of them as lbw dismissals with the second new ball, which shows that the pacer is keen to target the stumps and is improving his skillset to swing the ball.
With the bat, though, the 24-year-old couldn’t make much impact, managing only 11 runs.

Arjun Tendulkar made a mark on Rohit Sharma, the India skipper and former Mumbai Indians captain, in last IPL season. He picked up three wickets in four overs, but it included a last over defence of 20 runs against SRH, wherein the youngster showed good calmness in executing his plans.
Rohit said on Arjun last season: “Arjun has been a part of this team for the last three years [though he didn’t make the XI]. I have seen him grow over the years. He understands what he wants to do and he is quite confident about what he wants to do for the team as well.”
Arjun Tendulkar has been retained by Mumbai Indians for IPL 2024.
