MS Dhoni was all set to make a comeback on the field and lead his team Chennai Super Kings in the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League, which was originally scheduled to get underway on March 29 however was suspended indefinitely because of the Coronavirus pandemic which has affected the whole world. MS Dhoni was last seen in action during the semi-final match of the World Cup 2019 against New Zealand.

However, the suspension of Indian Premier League’s upcoming season has led to the postponement of MS Dhoni’s return to the field. The suspension of IPL 2020 has once again sparked the debate on MS Dhoni’s cricketing career. Several cricketers, recently, opened up about the cricketing career of MS Dhoni.

Recently, Indian cricketer Ashish Nehra reckoned that MS Dhoni should be a part of the preparatory training camp for the ICC T20 World Cup, which is scheduled to take place in Australia later this year in October-November.

In an interview, Ashish Nehra backed MS Dhoni and said that if he was a national selector, he would pick MS Dhoni in his team. But he also claimed that at the end of the day, it is what MS Dhoni wants. He said:

“If I was a national selector, MS Dhoni will be in my team but the bigger question is that whether he wants to play or not. It’s what Dhoni wants at the end of the day,”

He further claimed that MS Dhoni should be there in the T20 World Cup squad. He said:

“I don’t know whether the T20 World Cup is happening or not. If it is happening and you are just looking at the camp as a pre-cursor to the tournament, then MS should definitely be there. If it’s a case of bilaterals, then you already have KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, and Sanju Samson,”
