And the King has arrived! Former Indian captain and batting maestro Virat Kohli has once again starred for India with the bat against Pakistan in the Super Four round of the ongoing Asia Cup 2022. After being asked to bat first, the Indian cricket team got off to a brilliant start however, it was Virat Kohli who held the innings together for the team and how. Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul had earlier given a strong start, adding 54 runs in the first five overs. However, the Indian side lost an array of wickets, which slowed down their momentum in the middle overs.
However, Virat Kohli held the fort for the Indian side and registered a brilliant half-century, especially when the team needed it the most. His stunning knock helped the Indian cricket to post a strong total of 181/7 in their 20 overs. He crossed the 50-run mark creaming a stellar six over deep midwicket. Kohli smashed a stunning 60 off just 44 balls, hitting four boundaries and six.
While Kohli was brilliant throughout the innings, the shot he played to get to the fifty mark left the entire crowd in awe of him. He put his right leg across and smashed a pickup shot for a six-over cow corner to reach the half-century mark for the record 32nd time. Even Kohli looked so satisfied with that shot and was pumped up after reaching the milestone and was pumped up after reaching the milestone. Virat raised his bat to soak in the applause from the crowd and also kissed his jersey to deliver the message to the crowd that he always plays for the country.
