India’s star keeper-batter KL Rahul made a grand comeback to international cricket as he registered an amazing century against Pakistan in the ongoing Asia Cup 2023 game at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Monday.

KL Rahul Made A Grand Comeback

KL returned to the Indian side for their Super Fours match of Asia Cup 2023 after a long gap of three months due to multiple injuries. In fact, there were some serious concerns about the fitness of KL ahead of the Asia Cup 2023, given that he has been out of action since the IPL 2023.

Several experts and former cricketers questioned his selection just before the crucial ODI World Cup 2023. He made his presence count by putting up a dominating show against the arch-rivals. However, Rahul silenced all his critics and all the doubts regarding his form vanished on Monday.

KL Rahul joined hands with Virat Kohli and posted a total of 356/2. Kohli and KL Rahul started India’s innings on reserve day after a delay in start on Monday. Both the batters dominated the game with amazing hundreds and pulled off an unbeaten 233-run stand for the third wicket to help India score 356 runs for 2 in 50 overs. Virat Kohli finished the innings with three consecutive boundaries, including a six on the last ball off Faheem Ashraf. He played a stellar knock of 122* runs off 94 balls and Rahul remained unbeaten on 111 runs off 106 balls with memorable knocks. Rahul smashed 12 fours and 2 sixes.

Athiya Shetty Wrote An Emotional Post

Meanwhile, social media has been flooded with amazing tweets and reactions to Rahul’s grand comeback. However, the best post came from none other than KL’s wife Athiya Shetty, who wrote an emotional post for her husband.

Athiya took to her Instagram and penned an emotional post for her husband, highlighting his tough phase and his comeback. She wrote:

“Even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise… 🩵
You are everything, I love you. #1″
