Ayush Badoni left everyone in splits as he got dismissed in one of the most bizarre fashions on Wednesday (April 19) in the ongoing match against Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur.
Ayush, who impressed one and all with his batting prowess in the previous edition of the IPL, has resumed where he left last season and has already played some promising knocks while coming lower down the order in the ongoing season. He played knocks of 18, 23, and 30 in the first four innings of IPL 2023, coming down the order.
However, on Wednesday, when Lucknow Super Giants and Rajasthan Royals locked horns with each other, he failed to make the most of the opportunity given to him. Opening the innings for their side, KL Rahul and Kyle Mayers gave their side a solid start with the bat.
The duo added 82 runs for the first wicket before Jason Holder gave his side a much-needed breakthrough in the 11th over by dismissing Rahul. Surprisingly, with the platform all set, Badoni was promoted to number three in the batting order.

However, Badoni failed to make the most of the chance as he scored just 1 run off 4 balls. He was dismissed in a bizarre way as he failed to hit a big shot in the first three balls he faced when he tried to hit Trent Boult by playing a risky shot. He scooped Boult behind the stumps but failed miserably. He moved across in an attempt to send the ball toward the fine leg, but he ended up smashing it onto the leg stump.
