Babar Azam Got Trolled After Being Dismissed For 9 vs Hong Kong: Pakistan captain Babar Azam has got off to a poor start in the Asia Cup 2022. He has bagged two cheap scores in the tournament so far and is getting heavily trolled for the same.

On Friday, he was dismissed for only 9 runs from 8 balls against Hong Kong as off-spinner Ehsan Khan had him caught and bowled, chipping back a comfortable catch to draw first blood for Hong Kong in what is a must-win game for both teams to qualify for the Super 4.

Before this, on Sunday, Babar Azam, the Pakistani opener and captain, was managed only 10 runs from 9 balls against India. He was dismissed by senior India pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Bhuvneshwar surprised Babar Azam with a short ball; the Pakistani captain, feeling the pressure of having a slow start with Rizwan, went for a pull shot but top-edged it and was taken at short fine leg by Arshdeep Singh.

This couple of cheap scores from Babar Azam have come as a bit of a surprise for the fans because the right-hander had been in supreme form this year. Before the Asia Cup, Babar had struck three consecutive fifties -including a score of 91 – against the Netherlands.

Before that he’d hit a century and two half-centuries in Tests against Sri Lanka on the difficult Galle surfaces. He’d registered hundreds and fifties in West Indies and prior to that at home against Australia to lead his side from the front.

These couple of cheap scores could also just be an aberration given the fickle nature of the T20 format, and Babar could soon be back at his pomp in the Super 4, should Pakistan defeat Hong Kong.

But, for now, fans had some fun while trolling the Pakistani skipper, Babar Azam, for his two low scores in the Asia Cup 2022. Netizens also recalled how Babar had provided some words of strength on Twitter when Virat Kohli was going through a lean patch in England in July. Before the Asia Cup, Kohli himself also hailed Babar as the best current batsman across the three formats.
