Indian captain MS Dhoni became only the 15th batsman in cricket history of score 100 international fifties. He reached this milestone in the first ODI of the ongoing series between India and Australia, at Chepauk Stadium in Chennai.

This was MS Dhoni’s 66th ODI fifty, but he has 33 fifties in Test cricket and 1 in T20Is. Combining his fifties in all three formats of the game, he became only the fourth Indian batsman to reach 100 international half-centuries. India’s Sachin Tendulkar is at the top of the list with 164 international fifties to his credit. He also has 100 international hundreds to his name.

Second in this list is former Sri Lankan captain Kumar Sangakkara. Sangakkara is widely respected as one of the best batsmen in cricket history. In his illustrious international career, the Sri Lankan legend scored 153 international fifties.

At number 3, 4 and 5 are South African legend Jack Kallis, former Australia captain Ricky Ponting and legendary Indian batsman Rahul Dravid.

Many believe that MS Dhoni will play limited overs cricket for at least 2 more years. And, in these 2 years, he will score many more half centuries and climb further up in this elite list.
