MS Dhoni added yet another feather to his glorious cap, in the first match of the ongoing 5-match ODI series between India and Australia. Dhoni came out to bat when India were in a spot of bother after losing 4 wickets and yet again, he rescued his team from a difficult position.
Many believe that Dhoni is not a finisher that he used to be but numbers tell a different story. Dhoni got out in the first ODI after scoring 79 from 88 balls, and this was the first time in 5 ODIs that Dhoni has been dismissed this year after scoring 45*, 67*, 49* and 1* in the previous outings. In 017, MS Dhoni has scored 627 runs in 19 ODIs at an average of 89.57 with one hundred and five fifties.
Coming back to Dhoni’s newly added feather to his cap, the former Indian captain became only the fourth Indian to score 100 international fifties. Dhoni scored his 66th ODI fifty against Australia and it was his 100th international fifty (across all three formats of the game).
MS Dhoni is only the fourth Indian player after Sachin Tendulkar (164), Rahul Dravid (146) and Sourav Ganguly (107) to score a century of fifties on international cricket.
There is a massive army of MS Dhoni fans everywhere on the internet. And when he scored his 100th international fifty, Twitteratis were on fire. From Sachin Tendulkar to his fans, everybody was talking about his big milestone.
