BCCI Gives A Warning To Virat Kohli

Anil Kumble has stepped down as Indian Cricket Team’s coach but the drama is still on as, reportedly, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has given an ultimatum to Indian captain Virat Kohli saying that he too might have to face the music if Indian cricket team doesn’t perform well in the recent future.

One of India’s leading media houses, Times of India reported a source close to BCCI saying that Kohli had it his way but if he doesn’t deliver as captain, he will have to face the music, too.

BCCI Gives A Warning To Virat Kohli

“It has been given to understand that Kohli eventually had the veto power on the coach issue which pushed Kumble out of the team. Now that he has his way, he has to deliver as captain. Otherwise, he had it,” the official was as quoted by the TOI.

According to same report, when the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) decided to stick to Anil Kumble, Virat Kohli used his veto power and made it clear that he will not continue as India’s captain if Anil Kumble is given an extension.

Also, the pep-talk Anil Kumble gave to Team India after the defeat in final of ICC Champions Trophy 2017 against Pakistan didn’t go down too well with some of the cricketers. Reportedly, some of the cricketers had problem with the tonality of his address.
