Team India has currently found itself in some deep troubles. Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant copped a blow on his elbow during the third day’s play after he failed to get in the line of a short-pitched delivery from Australia’s star bowler Pat Cummins.

Rishabh Pant looked in a lot of discomforts after he was hit on his left elbow. The physio checked on him for a considering amount of time. Though, he resumed batting but didn’t comfortable against the powerful bowling line-up including Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and Josh Hazlewood. However, he couldn’t continue for too long and was dismissed a couple of overs later for a score of 36.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also shared an update on Rishabh Pant’s elbow injury.

“Rishabh Pant was hit on the left elbow while batting in the second session on Saturday. He has been taken for scans,”  the BCCI mentioned in a tweet.

Adding more to the nightmare, team India’s in-form all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was taken for scans. Ravindra Jadeja was hit on the left thumb as he defended at a rising delivery from Mitchell Starc. Commentators even speculated if he had dislocated his thumb, but he too carried on with his batting after treatment from the physio.

Both the cricketers didn’t take the field when Australian openers arrived to kickstart Australia’s 2nd innings. Replacing Rishabh Pant, wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha donned the gloves, whereas Mayank Agarwal was brought in to field replacing Ravindra Jadeja.

Earlier, in the series, team India lost Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav, and KL Rahul to injuries. Team India is currently struggling in the third Test match which is going on in Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).

Providing an update to Jadeja’s injury, BCCI wrote: “UPDATE – Ravindra Jadeja suffered a blow to his left thumb while batting. He has been taken for scans”
