Ben Stokes hailed Jasprit Bumrah! – Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has shown his outstanding skill in the first two Tests against England. He’s leading the wicket tally for the series, having taken 15 wickets with an average of 10.66. Bumrah, who is currently ranked as the top bowler in ICC Test rankings, took 9 wickets in the Vizag Test, earning him the Player of the Match title.
During a press conference before the third Test match between India and England, England captain Ben Stokes revealed that the team doesn’t have any specific plans to counter Jasprit Bumrah, the lead Indian pacer. Stokes’s statement generated interest and raised questions about England’s approach to facing Bumrah’s bowling threat.
Ben Stokes Revealed England’s Plan To Tackle Jasprit Bumrah

Ben Stokes mentioned that the England batsmen will need to figure out their own methods to handle Jasprit Bumrah, similar to how they’ve faced the Indian spinners in the series. Stokes also complimented Bumrah, saying he’s an incredible bowler. He said:
“No not really. He’s proven that for a very long time and has performed really well in the two games. Jasprit Bumrah is an unbelievable bowler. I think everyone has got their own way of trying to deal with Bumrah but we do have to score runs off him as well and that’s what we’ll try to do. But when that doesn’t work you just have to give credit to the bowler and Jasprit’s been outstanding the first two games.”
He added: “We’ve all got our own processes against every single bowler and there’s no team way of playing anyone. But as we always try to do we’ll be trying to keep the focus around us.”
Meanwhile, the third Test between India and England will take place at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot starting from February 15. Both teams face challenges with key players missing due to injury. India will be without KL Rahul and Virat Kohli, while England has lost left-arm spinner Jack Leach. There are concerns over India’s inexperienced middle order and the form of KS Bharat, prompting speculation of Test debuts for Dhruv Jurel and Sarfaraz Khan.
England showed impressive performance in the first two Tests, winning the opener in Hyderabad. However, India bounced back with a victory in Visakhapatnam. The Rajkot pitch typically favors batsmen, but it remains to be seen how it behaves in the upcoming Test match.
