England fast bowler Ollie Robinson hailed Jasprit Bumrah for his dominating performance against England. During a conversation with Wisden, Robinson spoke highly of Bumrah’s consistency and ability and called Bumrah the ‘best bowler in the world’.
Jasprit Bumrah has been a major headache for England’s batsmen with his speedy deliveries in the ongoing series. He was declared the player of the match in the second Test match against England in Vizag.
Ollie Robinson Hailed Jasprit Bumrah
Bumrah has been marvelous in the first two Test matches against England. The 30-year-old has picked up 15 wickets and with that, he is currently the leading wicket-taker in the series. Notably, the conditions weren’t in favor of the pacers in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam but the cricketer proved his worth by delivering significant contributions for the team.

Robinson was particularly impressed by Bumrah’s delivery of an unplayable yorker to Ollie Pope during the second Test of the series. He shared that he discussed Bumrah’s performance with James Anderson after the Visakhapatnam Test, expressing admiration for Bumrah’s exceptional bowling in challenging conditions. Speaking about Bumrah, Robinson said:
“Jasprit Bumrah has been crazy good. I must have said, ‘This bloke is the best bowler in the world,’ ten times in Vizag. The way he got Popey out, I was like, ‘Oh my, this guy’s a joke”,
He added: “And then he got Foakesy (Ben Foakes) out with a slower ball and I’m like, ‘Oh my goodness, can this guy get any better?’ You watch him and you think, ‘Wow, he’s good,’ said Robinson, who is yet to play any game in IND vs ENG series.
Ollie Robinson also mentioned that it’s particularly impressive to see Jasprit Bumrah bowl effectively in tough conditions in India. He said:
“And then there’s something else where you think, ‘He’s amazing, can he do anything more?’ And as a bowler – me and Jimmy were speaking about it and after the last game. To watch him play his trade in India is really special because we’re always striving to put on a performance like that in these conditions”
