India’s stand-in captain Jasprit Bumrah was brilliant with the bat on the second day of the ongoing rescheduled fifth Test between England as he registered a world record. Bumrah was brutal with his performance against the veteran pacer Stuart Broad as made everyone nostalgic with his batting heroics.

Jasprit Bumrah Registered A World Record

Well, it was in the 83rd over of the Indian innings, that Stuart Broad conceded 35 runs to help the Indian side cross the 400-run mark in the innings. While five of these runs came from wide, Jasprit Bumrah smashed 29 runs in that over. Bumrah scored four boundaries and two sixes in an incredible over that left everyone stunned and got the crowd jumping on its feet.

The Indian captain broke Brian Lara’s record for scoring the most runs in an over in the longest format of the game. Lara had set the record in a West Indies vs South Africa Test match in 2003 off Robin Petersen’s bowling.

Meanwhile, social media is ablaze with amazing reactions from the netizens to Bumrah’s performance. From cricketers to experts and fans, everyone took to social media to applaud the Indian captain’s knock.

However, the most special Tweet came from the legendary batter Brian Lara himself. After Bumrah shattered his record, Lara took to his social media and congratulated the young captain. He wrote:
