IPL 2023: Cameron Green Made A Big Statement On Skipper Rohit Sharma’s Form

All eyes will be on Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma when his team takes on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Match 54 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 at the Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday.

Rohit Sharma Needs To Fire Up

Sharma’s role for MI has been to provide brisk starts at the top, however, this season he has failed to do so. Rohit has been struggling to score runs in the ongoing 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League. So far, in 10 games, Rohit has scored just 184 runs at a paltry average of 18.40 and a poor strike rate of 126.89.

Mumbai Indians tried to take pressure off Rohit by sending him at number 3 in their last game against arch-rivals CSK, but the move backfired badly as the top-3 failed to live up to the expectations. Rohit endured his second consecutive duck and fourth single-digit score on the trot.

With this, he also registered an unwanted record in the IPL history as he scored the most number of ducks in IPL — 16.

As the ongoing tournament is heading toward its business end, fans will be hoping to Rohit amongst runs in the remaining games for his team. For Mumbai Indians, which is placed sixth at the points table, it is important that their best batter in the line-up fires.

Cameron Green On Rohit’s Form

Meanwhile, ahead of the crucial match against Royal Challengers Bangalore, MI all-rounder Cameron Green who opened the batting for MI in the game against CSK ahead of Rohit had said that the team is not concerned about their captain’s form. “Absolutely not,” Green had told the reporters.

He added: “A legend that Rohit is, especially with Mumbai and everything that he has done in his career, we actually back him. He could come back into the form any time. He has batted beautifully in a few games, showing really good tempo at the top, so we are absolutely backing him.”
