Complete List of all Chennai Super Kings Coaches

Chennai Super Kings have three IPL titles to their name. CSK and consistency are often synonymous. Barring 2020 IPL, they have managed to reach playoffs in every season they have been part of. Under the leadership of MS Dhoni, Chennai Super Kings won their three titles in 2010, 2011 and 2018.

Numerous world-class players have played big roles in taking the franchise to great heights. However, we often forget to acknowledge the efforts of coaching staff members in the side. They make sure that the players remain absolutely fit and at the top of their games. CSK’s coaching staff, though, has often been hailed for bringing the best of their players.

In this article, we look in detail about at all the coaching staff members:

  1. Head Coach:

Former New Zealand skipper, Stephen Fleming is the head coach of Chennai Super Kings in IPL. He played the inaugural season of IPL as an opener for CSK. He took up the coaching duties in the following season. Fleming has been the head coach of the franchise ever since.

  1. Mike Hussey:

Former Australia batsman, Mike Hussey played for CSK since the inaugural edition of the tournament. He played a crucial role with the bat to help CSK win the title in 2010. Hussey was appointed as the batting coach of CSK in January 2018.

  1. Bowling Coach- Lakshmipathy Balaji

Former Indian bowler, Lakshmipathy Balaji played the first three seasons for Chennai Super Kings in Indian Premier League before being bought by KKR in the fourth edition. Balaji was appointed as the bowling coach of CSK for 2018 IPL.

  1. Fielding coach: Rajiv Kumar

For those of you who don’t know, Rajiv Kumar was the skipper of Mahendra Singh Dhoni during his first-class days. He was appointed as the bowling coach of CSK for 2018 IPL.

  1. Throwdown specialist: Narasimhan V.

Narasimhan V is the throwdown specialist of Chennai Super Kings in the IPL.

  1. Physio- Tommy Simsek

Tommy Simsek has been the head physiotherapist since the inaugural edition of the tournament. Hailing from Australia, Tommy Simsek boasts of extensive experience with Elite Sport and duties of injury management, Rehabilitation and Fitness

  1. High Performer Analyst: Lakshmi Narayan

Lakshmi Narayan has been associated with CSK right from the inception of Indian Premier League. He was also part of the Tamil Nadu team which lifted the title Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in 2007-08.

  1. Physical Trainer: Greg King

Chennai Super Kings roped in former South African first-class player, Greg King, as their fitness trainer for IPL 2008. He worked with them between 2008 and 2015 edition. Greg was signed again when CSK made its comeback in 2018 IPL.

  1. Team Doctor: Madhu Thottappillil

Renowned Sports medicine doctor, Madhu Thottappillil is Chennai Super Kings’s team doctor. He recently got himself involved in a controversy for his social media post for mocking the government after 20 soldiers of the Indian Army passed away in a violent clash with Chinese troops in Galwan Valley,
