In a bidding war with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), RR secured Powell, who had a base price of Rs 1 crore and was released by Delhi Capitals before the auction. The 2008 champions also added promising English batter Tom Kohler-Cadmore to their squad. Additionally, they brought in uncapped Indian all-rounder Shubham Dubey for a sum of Rs 5.8 crore.
