St Lucia Zouks have been the second best performing team in this year’s CPL as they are now just one win away from securing their spot in the playoffs. Darren Sammy’s boys have been very consistent in all three departments of the game and have snatched victory from the jaws of defeat a couple of times in this tournament.
Guyana Amazon Warriors also strengthened their position in the points table with an emphatic win against Barbados Tridents last night and they would want to keep the momentum going as they take the field for their penultimate group game in the tournament.

Nicholas Pooran was struggling a little bit at the start of the tournament, but he now seems to have found his form and he has shown quite a versatile side of him as well in the last couple of games. While he blew the bowlers away with his magical six hitting ability against St Kitts, he played a completely different kind of knock against Barbados Tridents yesterday where his team was chasing a total less than 100.
The half-century that Brandon King scored last night against the Tridents was a long time coming. He had been middling the ball quite well, but was just finding different ways to get out. However, because his timing was good, a big knock was never too far away. Now that he has made a match winning impact for Guyana, the management would hope that King remains in heavy run-scoring form till the end of the tournament.
Nobody would have expected before the start of the CPL that Roston Chase would turn out to be one of the most impactful players for St Lucia Zouks, but the way he has performed, particularly with the ball, it’s outstanding. And, Chase has been equally well supported in the spin bowing department by the superstar Mohammad Nabi who has excelled for the Zouks with the bat as well.
Imran Tahir has been his usual self in CPL 2020. Wherever the veteran leg-spinner has gone over the years, he has always delivered the results and this CPL has been no different for him. The 41-year old continues to churn out wickets after wickets by outfoxing the batsmen with his ability to turn the ball both ways.
