St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, having lost 7 out of their 8 games, are virtually out of the tournament now as they can’t make it to the playoffs. But, that makes them a tricky proposition now because they will play without any pressure going ahead and might spoil the party for the other teams.
Jamaica Tallawahs are still in with a chance for making it to the playoffs, but they will have to win at least 2 out of their remaining 3 games. Given the quality they have in their squad, they are more than capable of getting the job done.
Here are our fantasy cricket tips for match 25 of CPL 2020 –
Pitch Report
The first game of the double headers on the last two days has proven to be fairly high-scoring as compared to the other games in the tournament, which suggests the pitch has played alright in the afternoon.
However, the captain winning the toss would like to bat first and put a score on the board, rather than opting to chase.
Predicted XI of both teams
St Kitts and Nevis Patriots
Chris Lynn, Evin Lewis, Denesh Ramdin, Ben Dunk, Joshua de Silva, Sohail Tanvir, Rayad Emrit (C), Sheldon Cottrell, Imran Khan, Jon-Russ Jaggesar and Ish Sodhi
Jamaica Tallawahs
Nicholas Kirton, Glenn Phillips, Rovman Powell (C), Andre Russell, Asif Ali, Jermaine Blackwood, Carlos Brathwaite, Mujeeb ur Rehman, Sandeep Lamichhane, Fidel Edwards and Veerasammy Permaul
Top Picks
While Glenn Phillips is an automatic pick from the wicket-keeper’s category as he is the highest run-scorer in the ongoing season of CPL, Joshua Da Silva is another player whom you might want to pick from the wicket-keeper’s category.
Although Da Silva doesn’t actually keep wickets for St Kitts and plays as a specialist batsman, he is listed as a wicket-keeper in Dream11 and he might be a very useful pick because his recent form has been good and he has been batting at no. 3 as well, which means he is likely to get enough no. of deliveries to get his eye in.
Ben Dunk has certainly not lived up to the expectations in CPL 2020 yet, but he has not looked horribly out of nick. He has probably erred on execution on quite a few occasions, but he has still been hitting the ball alright and he might be close to a big one.
Andre Russell looked dangerous with the bat in the last game, but he batted too low to be able to win the game for Jamaica. The team management might promote Russell up the order for this much important encounter.
Mujeeb ur Rahman has created problems for almost every team in this tournament. So, his selection in the fantasy XI is a no-brainer, but Sheldon Cottrell also seemed in a very decent rhythm yesterday against TKR and St Kitts will hope the southpaw chips in with a few wickets against Jamaica.
