West Indies cricketers continue to rule the shortest format of the game. Time and again, the Windies players have dominated the T20 format and have shown how successful they can be in this format.

In the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL), Odean Smith stole the show with his batting fireworks as he smashed 5 sixes in a single over.  Odean Smith, who is known for his power-hitting, smashed a total of 42 runs in just 16 balls as Guyana Amazon Warriors took on Jamaica Tallawahs in the 25th game of the CPL on Wednesday.

It was in the 18th over of the innings, Odean Smith took the onus upon himself to take the total of the team past the 170-run mark. He smashed Migael Pretorius all around the ground and smashed 5 sixes in the over, leaking 31 runs.

The video of the same has been going viral on the internet. Watch the video:

All thanks to his performance, Guyana Amazon Warriors added 74 runs in the last three overs. Smith was eventually dismissed after scoring 42 runs by Rovman Powell. Meanwhile, later after the game, Odean Smith talked about his performance and said:

“I went out there and I knew what I had to do. The wicket was very very good. Just stood my ground, kept my base and hit the ball. We were trying to get 160, very good that we got to 168. It came down really close. We didn’t get the start we wanted, I knew I hand to stand up and hit the ball. Lot of tension, I started the over and the first ball went for a six. I told the boys to remain calm. I have bowled overs like this in the past, haven’t gone my way but I have learnt from them. Keep believing and keep supporting us. Hopefully with the fans, we can win the remaining three games. That was a very good century (from Brandon King). The wicket was really good.”

Talking about the game, defending a total of 178 runs, the Warriors bowled out the Tallawahs for 166 runs. Brandon King turned out to be the top-scorer in the game as he played a sensational knock of 104 runs off 66 balls.
