Ruturaj Gaikwad, who is hailed as the future superstar of Chennai Super Kings, set the stage on fire in the opening match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Friday, March 31.

Ruturaj Gaikwad Played A Stellar Knock

Ruturaj made a blockbuster start to his campaign in the IPL 2023 as he registered the first half-century of the season. Ruturaj reached the fifty in just 23 balls after Hardik Pandya won the toss and sent MS Dhoni‘s men into bat.

Gaikwad hit the 6th fastest fifty for Chennai Super Kings in the history of the Indian Premier League. He reached the milestone in style during Alzarri Joseph’s first over of the evening. Ruturaj Gaikwad hit 5 sixes and 3 boundaries by the time he got to his fifty.

After reaching his fifty, he tore into the Gujarat Titans bowling attack, taking their pacers to the cleaners in front of a fully-packed crowd in an away game.

Gaikwad was eventually dismissed after scoring 92 runs off 50 balls. His stellar know was laced with 4 fours and 9 stunning sixes.

“I knew Gaikwad was a good player. But I did not expect this kind of level in the first match of the season. This is some level,” AB de Villiers, who was on-air, for JIo Cinema said.

Ruturaj Gaikwad’s stellar knock put Chennai Super Kings in a dominating position.
