Over the past few months, former spinner Danish Kaneria has been very vocal about the injustice done towards him from the past 5-6 months. It all started when the former Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Akhtar revealed how his former teammate Danish Kaneria was mistreated by the Pakistani team because he is a Hindu. Later, Danish Kaneria opened up about the injustice done towards him by his teammates and cricket board.
Now, in the latest interview, Danish Kaneria made shocking revelations about the Pakistan cricket board by claiming how “the minority community are not getting [an] equal opportunity”.
Well, Danish Kaneria’s statements have come after he accused Shahid Afridi of ruining his cricketing career. He revealed that Shahid Afridi was always against him. He had revealed:
“He was always against me, when we were playing for the same department in domestic cricket or playing me in ODIs. If one person is always against you and you are in that situation, what other reason would think other than that (religion),”
Danish Kaneria, who represented Pakistan in 61 Tests and 18 ODIs, in addition has now claimed that the minorities are not getting equal opportunities by the cricket board. He even accused ‘minority leaders’ of not speaking anything against all this. He revealed:
“I am unnecessarily accused of playing religious cards. Whereas the reality is that players from the minority community are not getting equal opportunity. It is very sad that even our minority leaders haven’t dared to speak anything.”

Thank you for speaking up. You must raise your voice to let the authorities know how the minorities are not given equal opportunities. Please do not stop raising your voice, you may help many talented people from minorities to achieve their goals. More power to you.

You are the 4th highest wicket taker for PAK in tests with over 60 matches. Very few cricketers in Pak got this opportunity. M. Yusaf is another example who started off as a minority and got huge success even before converting. So really don’t think that minorities are mistreated

Hats off to you Danish. It is very difficult to say truth on pakistani soil. You are not just a cricketer but a brave, honest and intelligent person too. My best wishes for all your future endeavours.
