Different Types Of Ducks In Cricket: When David Miller got dismissed without facing a solitary delivery for today’s game, the commentators were at a loss of terms for the exact duck that he walked out of the field for.

Hence we decided to lay down the different kinds of duck for which a cricketer can get dismissed in cricket so that it gets easier for the fans to label the fiascos.




There are 8 Different Types Of Ducks In Cricket:

Golden Duck: When a batsman gets out on the very first ball of his innings without scoring a run, it is said to be a golden duck for him.

Silver Duck: When a batsman gets dismissed on the second ball of the innings without scoring a single run, it is known as a silver duck. It’s one of the 8 different types of ducks in cricket.

Bronze Duck: When a batsman is removed in the third ball of his innings without scoring a run, it is called a bronze duck.




Diamond Duck: When the batsman gets out without facing a single delivery like Miller did today it is called a Diamond Duck. That was the word that the commentators scrambled for. It is applicable in case of run-outs and time outs.

Royal Duck: This is a prerogative for the openers as this term applies when they get out on the first ball of the innings bowled.

Laughing Duck: When a batsman gets out for a duck ending his team’s innings it is known as a Laughing Duck.

Pair: When a batsman is removed for naught in both the innings of a test match it is called a pair.

King Pair: When a batsman gets out on the first ball of both the innings of a test match without scoring a run, it is called a king pair.
