[Watch] David Warner Smashed Haris Rauf On The Roof Of M Chinnaswamy

There are jaw-dropping shots and there is this six from David Warner to Haris Rauf, one of the fastest bowlers in the world, as the ball hit the roof of the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium!

After being given a reprieve by World Cup debutant Usama Mir through a simple dropped catch, David Warner teed off against the Pakistan bowlers. Along with Mitchell Marsh, the Australian opening pair added 82 runs for no wicket loss in the first 10 overs.

This onslaught included an astonishing pick-up shot six from David Warner to Haris Rauf that stunned everyone as the ball crashed into the Chinnaswamy roof, reminding fans of Chris Gayle’s belligerent hitting for RCB at this stadium during his IPL days.

It was a 146 KPH rocket from Haris Rauf from around the wicket angle. It feels like David Warner pre-meditated the shot and was quick to react in picking up the line and length of the ball on the off-stump. He crouched and played a superb scoop shot, sending the ball over the fine leg region and onto the roof of the Chinnaswamy Stadium, leaving the spectators with their mouths open.

It has gone from bad to worse for Pakistan after Babar Azam won the toss and elected to bowl first. Warner was on just 10 runs when Usama Mir dropped a simple catch off Shaheen Afridi’s bowling. Warner and Marsh have since been mercilessly hammering the Pakistan bowlers. With the kind of start they have got, and considering that dew will arrive in the evening, Australia will be looking for a total of at least 350.
