Deodhar Trophy 2017: Shikhar Dhawan was dropped from Team India because of his poor form but he is now working hard at the domestic level and surely pushing selectors for a comeback. In the ongoing Deodhar Trophy, playing for India B, Dhawan scored a match-winning hundred for India B. India A’s skipper Harbhajan Singh won the toss and decided to bowl first. But, his decision backfired as Shikhar Dhawan and Parthiv Patel began proceedings in fine fashion and went past the 50-run mark in the tenth over.
Shikhar Dhawan’s shot selection was very good and he held the innings together from one end. After Parthv’s dismissal, he formed a very good partnership with Ishank Jaggi. Dhawan took his time in the middle and kept rotating the strike. But as soon as he reached his hundred, he changed his gears and scored 128 runs off 122 balls.
This knock will surely attract eye balls and put Dhawan in a good mental position before the tenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Dhawan made his last international appearance in 2017 against England and was not picked for the four-match Test series against Australia.
