Dinesh Karthik Has A Special Message For His RCB Family

Veteran keeper-batter Dinesh Karthik has seen it all in his nearly two-decade-long cricketing career, which was no less than a roller-coaster ride for him – full of ups and downs. However, it was his passion, his determination, and hard work that kept him going. The latest update in the glorious roller-coaster ride of DK’s career was receiving another comeback call to the Indian side.

Karthik has been in some terrific form in the ongoing 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League, averaging more than 57 with a strike rate of over 190. It won’t be wrong to say that his contribution with the bat was one of the major reasons behind RCB qualifying for the playoffs.

But not many are aware of the fact that before he took the field of the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the ongoing season, he had pledged to make a comeback to the Indian cricket team. His target was set even before the IPL 2022 started and all thanks to his stellar show in the tournament, the keeper-batter has earned his place in the Indian squad.

Talking about his inclusion in the Indian set-up against South Africa for the 5-match T20I series, Dinesh Karthik expressed his gratitude to RCB and shared how the comeback is the ‘most special’ one. He said:

“I am very happy. I am very satisfied. This is my most special comeback because a lot of people had given up on me. For me to comeback and do what I did, practice the way I did, so many special things have happened in the lead up to the rock-shell and how I practiced post that,”

He added:

I think the clarity that they gave me for me to execute the role that I wanted to do, in many ways I am indebted to RCB for picking me and giving me that role, believing in me and then me coming out here and trying to do my best for team RCB. So, it’s all and all a very very happy feeling,”

The Tamil Nadu-born cricketer will be seen playing for the Indian cricket team in the shortest format of the game after a long gap of three years. Meanwhile, the T20 World Cup 2022 is just around the corner and team India is to play quite a few T20Is leading up to the completion. Hence, DK will have to give the best of his abilities at each and every opportunity.
