Dinesh Karthik Wants To Take This Tennis Star On Lunch

Earlier in the week, senior Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik made his comeback to the Indian side after being ignored by the selectors for the last three years. Karthik played his first game for India since the 2019 World Cup semi-final when he took the field against South Africa in the first T20I in Delhi.

However, Karthik didn’t get to do much with the bat – he managed a single in the two balls he got to face. That said, Karthik will be expected to play a big role in the remainder of the series as India have conceded a trial with a loss in the first match.

Ahead of the second T20I in Cuttack on Sunday, Karthik played a game of “this or that” and the video was uploaded on the official Twitter handle of BCCI. During his fun chat, Karthik was asked a few rapid-fire questions in which he had to choose between two options.

When asked who would he rather take for lunch – a favourite filmstar or a sportstar? Karthik went with his favourite Tennis superstar, global icon Roger Federer.

“Roger Federer. I have always been enamoured by him, the way he carries himself both on and off the field,” Karthik said in the video.

Further, Karthik opted for Lionel Messi over Cristiano Ronaldo as the footballer he’d love to watch more. Speaking highly about Argentina and former Barcelona footballer, the RCB cricketer said, “Messi. He is slightly different. I enjoy watching him in the little that I have watched.”

When asked to pick between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, the wicketkeeper-batter said, “I guess Federer.”

Also, between tea and coffee, Karthik picked the former while he chose Twitter as more an enjoyable platform than Instagram.
