Faf du Plessis Revealed How Many Boxers He Wears While Batting

Ahead of the start of the IPL 2022, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) had their new captain Faf du Plessis get involved in a fun conversation with Mr Nags, a character played by Danish Sait, RCB’s anchor and Mascot on the RCB Insider Show.

In the show, Sait and Faf du Plessis got engaged in some hilarious conversations, ranging from his eight-pack abs, fitness routine, new challenges as RCB’s skipper, and the host also got the South African to sing a Kannada song.

This conversation was shared by RCB; the video on their social media captioning it as: “Captain Faf’s sense of humor comes out as Mr. Nags talks about his 8 pack abs and continues the 7-year tradition by making Faf sing a famous Kannada song. Watch now.”

Laughter broke out when Mr Nags asked Faf why he wears so much protective equipment while going out to bat. Faf had a hilarious reply to this question:

“I wear normal pads. The only thing that’s different with me is I wear three boxers. There’s a lot to protect,” Faf du Plessis said.

Faf du Plessis, who was the second-highest run-scorer last season, was bought for 7 crore in the mega-auction last month, ending his long-time association with CSK.

It was a bit poetic that du Plessis comes in the RCB setup the very next season when his best mate AB de Villiers retired. There have been some big names from South Africa who have played for RCB: other than de Villiers the likes of Chris Morris, Dale Steyn, and Rilee Rossouw have wore the RCB red.

Faf du Plessis had another funny response on being pointed out that he’s late among the South Africans to play for RCB.

“I am used to being the oldest as you can see. In the South African side, I was the last one to stay. I want to be the guy that’s there at the end. The guy that’s oldest, the wisest, most grey hair,” he said with once again evoking laughter.

RCB kick-off their campaign on March 27 against Punjab Kings at the DY Patil Sports Academy.
