Punjab Kings‘ skipper KL Rahul’s poor form at the Narendra Modi Stadium continued as he was dismissed after playing a slow knock of 19 off 20 balls. The wicket was picked by KKR’s fast bowler Pat Cummins, who gave a much-needed breakthrough to his team.
This isn’t the first time that KL Rahul has struggled to perform at this iconic venue. Rahul has even struggled at the same venue while playing for Men in Blue in the recently -concluded T20I series against England. He could only manage to score 15 runs in 4 innings he played at the venue and was eventually dropped from the final game.
As KL Rahul walked out to bat at the Narendra Modi Stadium once again today against KKR, his poor form at the venue was once again at the display.
The dismissal took place in the 5th over after KL Rahul formed a decent partnership with Mayank Agarwal and both of them looked to dominate the KKR bowlers. Rahul wanted to hit a length ball down the ground, however, he failed to middle it. Rahul got a mere edge and Sunil Narine grabbed the ball at the edge of the circle. It was a significant breakthrough for Pat Cummins for his team after he went for 12 in his first over.
Meanwhile, fans flooded the social media with their reactions to Rahul’s slow knock. Fans are trolling Rahul left, right, and center for once again failing at the Narendra Modi Stadium. There were many who pointed fingers at him for putting immense pressure on Mayank Agarwal and other batsmen to score quickly.
