IPL 2024: Fans Hailed Shreyas Iyer For His Selfless Captaincy

In their recent IPL 2024 clash on Wednesday (April 3), Kolkata Knight Riders claimed an impressive victory against Delhi Capitals. Despite initial doubts from experts, the Knight Riders have been performing exceptionally well this season. The partnership of Gautam Gambhir and Shreyas Iyer, along with other players, has been particularly successful for the two-time champions, propelling them to the top of the points table.

Fans Hailed Shreyas Iyer For His Selfless Captaincy

The Knight Riders’ triumph was not only remarkable but also historic, as they achieved the second-highest total ever in IPL history, amassing a massive 272 runs in their allotted 20 overs. In response, Delhi Capitals struggled, managing only 166 runs, resulting in a staggering 106-run victory for KKR.

This victory marked KKR’s second-largest winning margin in terms of runs and ranks among the top ten biggest victory margins in IPL history. Additionally, KKR reached another significant milestone on that memorable night.

That’s indeed a significant milestone for the Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2024, marking the first time in their history that they have won their first three matches of the season. This achievement provides a major boost to the team’s morale and sets a positive tone for their campaign.

Under Gautam Gambhir’s guidance in the past, Kolkata Knight Riders never managed to win their first two matches. The team only achieved this feat twice, under former captain Sourav Ganguly in 2008 and 2010. In 2019, although they started with two wins, they were defeated by Delhi Capitals in the third match.

Therefore, winning their first two matches this season against Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore marks a significant achievement for the KKR team under captain Shreyas Iyer.

Meanwhile, after KKR’s 3rd win of the ongoing season, social media has been buzzing with amazing reactions from the fans, who are hailing Shreyas Iyer for his selfless captaincy.
