India’s star all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been ruled out of the ODI World Cup 2023 because of the ankle injury that he suffered in a match against Bangladesh on October 19th. The ICC via an official statement has confirmed that the 30-year-old has failed to recover in time to be a part of the rest of the campaign.
Hardik Pandya Ruled Out Of Remainder Of World Cup 2023
Hardik Pandya had twisted his ankle and landed awkwardly during the game against Bangladesh in Pune on October 19. He limped off the field and was immediately taken for the scans. He was ruled out of action for the rest of the game. He has subsequently missed India’s next three matches against New Zealand, England, and Sri Lanka.
The team management and captain Rohit Sharma were positive about Hardik Pandya’s return, who is currently been undergoing treatment and rehabilitation at the NCA, that he would be fit for the semifinals, which India qualified for on Thursday after defeating Sri Lanka.
However, Pandya has failed to recover in time to be a part of the squad for the remaining campaign. The news was shared by ICC via their official account. The statement read:
“Pandya hurt his left ankle while bowling during India’s World Cup match against Bangladesh in Pune last month and it has now been confirmed that the 30-year-old has failed to recover in time to part of the rest of the campaign,”
India’s star all-rounder to miss the remainder of #CWC23.
